NEWFOCAS Social Workers, Ann and Mandy complete their Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Child Care

This course promotes and encourages excellence in working with children who have been traumatised through abuse and gives a vital insight into childhood trauma and practical recovery training.

On the course Ann and Mandy studied assisting the recovery of traumatised children including how recovery processes are delivered and best practice measures, treatments and procedures. Some of the issues discussed included how children develop, how to help children deal with loss, attachment and grief, identity and diversity and sexual development issues. They also developed their knowledge of emotional intelligence, improving communication with children and learning how to encourage children to communicate.

All at NEWFOCAS send their congratulations to you both for achieving this qualification, it has been a long road, but very worthwhile.  Well done!
