H & L go through Panel as Parent and Baby Assessors

Prior to fostering, L undertook work in Sure Start and it is clear how much she enjoys helping others. H and L are clearly aware of the need for and the reasons behind the need for, confidentiality at all times in respect of the fostering task. They spoke about the need for consistency in boundary setting and that their fostering experience had taught them a great deal, particularly how to communicate with others, carers, staff, children, other professionals and foster families.

Listening is one of the prime skills of this couple, verified by the children who feel that both their parents are good listeners, as well as good foster carers. L has also undertaken NEWFOCAS Sessional work, respite work and peripatetic fostering previously.

Both H and L have good communication skills, written and verbal, amply evidenced during their years fostering for NEWFOCAS. They have demonstrated their ability to work as part of a team during the training process when they have gelled very well with various other carers over the years. They have demonstrated their commitment to training, as well as their appreciation and regular and appropriate use of supervision, evidenced in their past reviews.

They live in a large five bedroom detached property which is easily accessible from the major road networks and close to various school and leisure facilities. It is ideal for post birth assessments, which is the work L would like to specialise in.
