WEDNESDAY 14TH MARCH 2012
NEWFOCAS Management Team are undergoing consultation with the Centre of Research and Education in Psychological Trauma.
Although J and her partner M decided not to go through the Process of becoming Foster Carers, M is very supportive of her desire to become a Peripatetic Foster Carer.
Although J has not fostered before, her work and expertise as a Parent Support Worker in Barnados and as a Residential Care Worker for the local authority, prepares her for the most challenging of situations that she may encounter and I believe the empathy and skills necessary to become a great source of support to the Foster Carer as well as the child/children.
J presents as a considerate and gentle woman who has a caring nature but due to her experience is not fazed by unexpected or challenging scenarios that may present in her role as a Peripatetic Carer.
Unlike larger Fostering Agencies, we are small enough to know all our Carers and their placements on a very individual basis and Carers are never left to deal with a crisis situation alone or unsupported.
