A real new focus on fostering

Welcome A to the Team

A and her partner have fostered for NEWFOCAS in the past and as a past respite carer Anne cared for many children and young people with complex needs and extreme behaviours, some of the most difficult young people we looked after, a the time.  A took all the behaviours in her stride, was firm with the young people but also used her humour and energy to manage and often divert them with gainful activities.

A is non judgemental and understands the need to put the welfare of the children to the fore.  She has demonstrated an ability to observe and record her observations, accurately.  She is also aware of risk and particularly aware that managing risk in another environment requires good communication and briefing from the main carer.

Testimonials

"They seem to have the ability to match children's needs to the placement, rather than the other way around, in my experience.  The child comes first".
